Carbon-Negative Construction Materials from Captured CO2

Stockholm, Sweden (HQ); demo plant in Rotterdam, Netherlands

Highlight

Turns captured CO2 and mineral rock into carbon-negative materials that replace part of conventional cement.

Extended description

Paebbl has developed a mineralisation technology that dramatically accelerates natural rock weathering, combining captured CO2 with abundant minerals (such as olivine) to produce carbon-negative supplementary cementitious materials. These can replace a share of Portland cement in concrete while locking carbon permanently into stable minerals. Because it is compatible with existing manufacturing, the technology helps the construction sector cut embodied carbon without sacrificing performance.
