Highlight

Turns urban waste into a circular resource through separation, composting and recycling in a mid-sized city.

Extended description

In Battambang, Cambodia, the Global Green Growth Institute, the National Council for Sustainable Development, GRET, COMPED and local authorities developed an integrated urban solid-waste system based on separation, composting and recycling. By diverting organic and recyclable waste from dumpsites, it cuts emissions and pollution, recovers value and improves urban sanitation, offering a replicable circular-economy model for mid-sized cities in the Global South.
