Extended description
The Energy & Raw Materials Factory (EFGF) is a Dutch initiative led by public water authorities that redefines wastewater treatment plants as resource-recovery hubs. Beyond cleaning water, participating plants recover biogas, cellulose, phosphates and nutrients, and bioplastics, feeding them back into industry, agriculture and energy systems. Biogas generation lets some plants offset their own energy use or even become net energy producers, cutting emissions and reliance on virgin materials.
