Community energy models allow residents, cooperatives, municipalities and local organisations to jointly develop, own or benefit from renewable-energy projects such as solar arrays, wind turbines and shared storage. By keeping more economic value locally and involving citizens directly in the energy transition, these models can improve public acceptance, reduce energy costs and address energy poverty while accelerating renewable deployment.
