Chromasun Micro-Concentrator
Rooftop Concentrating Solar Thermal
San Jose, California, USA
Highlight
Brings concentrating solar heat to ordinary commercial rooftops in a flat panel just 8 cm thick.
Extended description
Chromasun's MCT (Micro-Concentrator Thermal) is a flat-profile concentrating solar-thermal collector, about 8 cm thick, that uses internal tracking mirrors to concentrate sunlight around five times onto a receiver, producing heat at 100–180°C. Designed for commercial rooftops with weight and space limits, it can supply solar heat for air conditioning, industrial processes and hospitals without heavy tracking structures, extending concentrating solar to constrained urban buildings.
