Bee Bus Stops

Living Roofs on Urban Bus Shelters (UK)

United Kingdom

Highlight

Turns everyday bus-shelter roofs into pollinator habitats using lightweight modular green-roof trays.

Extended description

Bee Bus Stops is a UK initiative that transforms bus-shelter roofs into small green spaces that act as habitats for pollinators such as bees and bumblebees. Using lightweight, prefabricated green-roof trays (M-Tray) planted with year-round flowering species, it adds biodiversity and flowering to densely paved areas where such habitat is scarce. By reusing existing street furniture, it delivers functional green infrastructure without major works.
