Bamboo House
Low-Carbon Construction with Engineered Bamboo
International / project-specific
Highlight
Uses rapidly renewable bamboo as a structural material to replace carbon-intensive concrete and steel.
Extended description
Bamboo House demonstrates the use of engineered bamboo as a structural and architectural material for low-carbon buildings. Bamboo grows rapidly, stores carbon while growing and can replace more carbon-intensive materials such as concrete and steel in appropriate applications. Modern treatment and engineered-bamboo systems improve durability and structural performance, making it possible to combine renewable materials, local supply chains and contemporary construction.
